Support CHR’s Adopt-a-Family Program

Want to share joy with families in need this holiday season? Community Health Resources (CHR), Connecticut’s most comprehensive, nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider, is seeking donations of all sizes to support its annual Adopt-a-Family program.

Adopt-a-Family matches families and individuals who are receiving care at CHR with generous donors from the community to help fulfill holiday wish lists. Without this program, families would not have gifts to share with loved ones during the holidays.

“Adopt-a-Family is a longstanding tradition at CHR that started when many of our clinicians noticed that families were really struggling during the holiday season,” explains Heather Gates, CHR’s President and CEO. “Through the years, we have seen how this program alleviates both financial and emotional stress for families.”

This year, there has been a significant increase in the number of families seeking assistance through Adopt-a-Family, she noted.

“Given the increase in need this year, we are especially grateful to everyone who is supporting Adopt-a-Family,” Gates added.
