Connecticut’s most comprehensive nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider, Community Health Resources (CHR), was recently recognized as one of America’s Greatest Midsize Workplaces for Culture, Belonging, and Community 2026 by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group.
This award is based on extensive research including the analysis of more than 2.6 million online employee reviews, 7.7 million survey-based employer reviews, as well as publicly available data. For this award, key performance indicators included a sense of belonging, safety, career opportunities, and connection with CHR’s mission, vision, and history.
“Our employees do amazing work every day to fulfill CHR’s mission of inspiring hope for individual and community wellbeing. In return, we work hard to foster an environment where all employees can grow, thrive, and meet their potential,” said Heather Gates, CHR’s President and CEO, noting that CHR has been named a Top Workplace in CT for the last 12 years, has previously been named as a Top Workplace by Newsweek and USA Today, and is the only nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider from Connecticut on the list.
Newsweek officials stress that the Culture and Belonging Award is a testimony to CHR’s workplace. “Today’s employees seek environments where they feel valued, heard, and connected. They are looking for workplaces that prioritize culture, foster genuine belonging, and build strong communities. We hope this ranking helps job seekers and professionals identify workplaces that combine personal connection with professional growth,” said Jennifer H. Cunningham, Editor-in-Chief.
