CHR Honored During Women’s History Month!

During Women’s History Month, nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider Community Health Resources (CHR) was recognized as one of America’s Greatest Midsize Workplaces for Women in 2026 by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group.

“It’s gratifying to know that women employees value CHR as a place to learn, grow, and reach their full potential,” said Heather Gates, CHR’s President and CEO, First Vice Chair of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, and Chair of the CT Community Nonprofit Alliance. “We work hard to maintain a dynamic and welcoming environment that fosters growth for all employees.”

The Newsweek designation follows a nationwide survey of more than 2.6 million online employee reviews from 4,700 workplaces. Companies were evaluated across 120 key performance indicators, including workplace happiness, culture, belonging, and work-life balance.

“This designation highlights organizations that are setting new standards for women in the workplace and demonstrating a commitment to gender equality and fairness,” said Jennifer H. Cunningham, Newsweek Editor-in-Chief.

CHR is the only healthcare provider in CT to be recognized on the Greatest Midsize Workplaces for Women list and has previously been named as a Top Workplace by Newsweek and USA Today. Additionally, CHR has been recognized as one of the Top Workplaces in CT for the last 12 years.

“We are incredibly proud of the employees and leadership at CHR for maintaining a supportive and welcoming environment for staff and providing high-quality care for the individuals and families who seek CHR’s services,” said CHR’s Board Chair Miranda Muro of Connecticut Foodshare.
