
Heather Gates, President and CEO of Community Health Resources and Second Vice Chair of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, participated in a press conference on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, with legislative leaders to discuss the devastating impact that flat funding rates could have on nonprofits in Connecticut. “Inadequate Medicaid rates have led to access issues to outpatient services, the backbone of the treatment system,” Heather Gates stated during the press conference. “It’s the perfect storm for us, and the behavioral health system cannot withstand it without cutting programs and access to services even further,” Gates added.
