The systems put in place by our society often do not serve people equally. This is especially true of the criminal justice system for individuals with mental health issues who have committed small, non-violent crimes. At CHR, we offer jail diversion services, which is part of our many Support and Rehabilitation programs, to help these individuals find support and hope.

This program directs adults with mental health issues, specifically, psychiatric disabilities, and non-violent criminal offenses away from the corrections system and into more appropriate community-based treatment settings. Once the individual enters the program, a CHR professional conducts an assessment and concludes treatment options.
