court support services

If you have been arrested for operating a motor vehicle, boat, all-terrain vehicle, or snowmobile under the influence of alcohol and or drugs (also called OUI, DUI, DWI) under the influence you may be able to avoid conviction. You must first be referred by the Court Support Services Division (CSSD) to attend a Pre-Trial Intervention Program (PTIP) and or the Pre-Trial Alcohol Education Program (PTEP). CHR, as a contractor, offers both programs, overseen by DMHAS. CHR evaluates individuals and provides recommendations to the courts for level of care and next steps. The objective of these programs is to clear the way for positive behavioral changes.
PTIP and PDEP programs are held in Enfield, Willimantic, and Danielson. Individuals or referring agents should call the facility at 1.860.963.4971 or 1.860.456.3215 during regular business hours. Individuals are admitted from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those who meet the CCPC criteria for chemical maintenance services will be admitted. This program is open to Connecticut residents as well as individuals out of state.
PRE-TRIAL INTERVENTION PROGRAM (PTIP): Individuals referred by the Court Support Services Division to attend the Pre-Trial Intervention Program. The program provides education for individuals who were arrested for operating a motor vehicle, boat, all-terrain vehicle, or snowmobile under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. Individuals are evaluated to determine the significance of their substance use. Once assessed, recommendations are made to the court for possible additional education or treatment. For more information, please call 1.860.963.4971 or 1.860.456.3215.
PRE-TRIAL DRUG EDUCATION PROGRAM (PDEP): The Court Support Services Division (CSSD) refers individuals who were arrested for the first time operating a motor vehicle, boat, all-terrain vehicle, or snowmobile under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (often called OUI, DUI, DWI). Individuals who have been arrested before may also attend this program only if the offense was ten years ago and without any intervening arrests or convictions. Individuals under the age of 21 who are arrested for operation of a motor vehicle, boat, all-terrain vehicle, or snowmobile under the influence of alcohol (0.02BAC or higher) or drugs are also permitted to attend this program to avoid conviction. CHR’s PDEP programs are held in Enfield, Willimantic and Danielson. For more information, please call 1.860.963.4971 or 1.860.456.3215.
