Turkessa Antrum, CHR’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, was recently elected Chapter President of the Human Resources Association of Central CT (HRACC), an affiliate of the Society for HR Management (SHRM). The HRACC serves the HR community through professional development, networking opportunities, and educational resources.

The HR Association of Central CT has more than 400 members and Antrum will serve a two-year term as President.

“I am so pleased to be working with such a highly committed and engaged board whose mission is to provide HR professionals with ongoing resources for personal and professional development, opportunities to network for problem-solving and career leads, and to provide timely legislative updates to tackle the countless trends that re-shape the landscape of the work that we all do,” Antrum wrote in her first message as Chapter President, noting the distinct challenges the ongoing pandemic has presented to HR professionals. “Together we can continue to navigate change and positively impact our workplaces in the months to come,” she said.

Antrum has led CHR’s HR team since 2016 and was named Senior Vice President in 2019 and Chief DEI Officer in 2021. She has an extensive background in HR, is SPHR and SHRM-SCP certified, and earned her undergraduate and dual graduate degrees from the University of Maryland.

“I’m so proud of Turkessa’s leadership within CHR and on the state level to help advance the important work of HR professionals in our communities, especially during these challenging times” added Heather Gates, CHR’s President and CEO.
