Give the Gift of Hope.

Your donation will help foster hope and a brighter future for those who need help the most in our community.

On behalf of CHR and the people who benefit from much-needed services each year, thank you for considering a financial gift. Your tax-deductible donation will be used to expand CHR’s behavioral health programming to children, families and adults in need throughout Central and Eastern Connecticut.

Annual Events

Each year CHR hosts several special events that raise much-needed funds for our programs and services. Everyone in the community is invited to participate. These include:

  • CHR's Annual Golf and Tennis Tournament and a new road race (TBD)!!!

Individual Giving

In making a donation, you may designate your gift to a specific program or leave all or a portion of your gift unrestricted. Unrestricted donations provide the greatest flexibility to meet our most pressing and immediate needs.

Matching Gifts – Many companies offer gift matching programs. Ask your employer’s personnel office for details.

Commemorative Gifts – Make a gift in honor or memory of a friend, colleague or loved one.

Endowment  – Gifts of $5,000 or more may be used to further CHR’s mission for future generations.

United Way – If your workplace participates in the United Way campaign, you can designate your pledge to CHR through United Way’s Donor Choice Program.

Gifts-in-Kind – CHR accepts gifts of goods or services. In-kind gifts often help us meet specific needs. We welcome donations of these items for those individuals in our care. Donating items from the list below is great way to help those in need:

  • Travel or duffel bags and small suitcases
  • School knapsacks and supplies
  • New clothing items including coats, boots, hats and gloves
  • Baby care items such as diapers and wipes
  • Personal care items, including shampoo, soap and toothbrushes
  • New toys and games
  • Gift cards from grocery and department stores

Planned Giving

Planned gifts create opportunities for our donors to invest in CHR’s mission. Determining what gift is right for you is just as important as making the gift. There are a variety of simple and straightforward giving options from which you can choose.

Bequests Through Your Will – Remember CHR in your will. Information about leaving a bequest is available at www.leavealegacyct.org.

Life Insurance – You can make a significant life insurance gift by naming CHR as a beneficiary of all or a portion of the proceeds of an existing policy.

Retirement Accounts – The benefits of a retirement account (IRA or company plans) may be donated to CHR by simply signing a beneficiary designation form.

Business and Corporate Giving

Join other local businesses in support of CHR’s mission. Your business or corporation can show support in a variety of ways including event sponsorships, grants, matching funds, volunteering or services.

Matching Funds – Employee matching gifts (also known as matching funds) are donations an employer makes to match its employees’ charitable contributions. Employee matching gifts often are dollar-for-dollar, but some companies will give double or even triple the original donation.

For donors who like the ease and convenience of making their gifts via a credit card, CHR accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Please contact CHR’s Office of Community Development for additional information.
