Job Description

JOB TITLE: Per-Diem Registered Nurse
 
  • Perform initial nursing assessments and document ongoing assessments of patients’ response to treatment.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate nursing care plans according to age specific needs of patients.  Record progress in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for accurate input of computer data.
  • Participate in or supervise the nursing care of patients, providing direct physical care measures as needed.
  • Act as a primary nurse working with individual patients and coordinating their treatment.
  • Execute the medical regimen of care as prescribed by the physician.
  • Educate the patient/family toward an understanding of health/illness and the plans for post-discharge care.
  • Respond to medical/psychiatric emergency needs of patients, following C.P.A.S.’s policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and protect patient rights and confidentiality; adhere to the Counselor Code of Ethics and Federal Confidentiality Regulations.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings conducted by C.P.A.S. staff or consultants as requested.
  • Adhere to the standards of the Council on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
  • Adhere to the C.P.A.S. Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Other duties as they relate to the position

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or in a related health care field preferred.
  • Current RN license in the State of Connecticut required.
  • Certification in CPR.
  • Knowledge of the medical problems that can be of concern for the client in detoxification and evaluation.
  • Have the basic clinical skills and technical skills according to established standards of practice.
  • Ability to establish a rapport with the substance abusing clients.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
