Grant House
Grant House is a community based group home which provides 24 hour staffing and a built in therapeutic component for six boys, aged 10 to 13, who have experienced trauma and loss and who have serious emotional and behavioral problems. Most of the boys referred to Grant House have been in hospitals or other residential treatment facilities before coming to CHR. The home allows the boys to live in a more normal, home-like setting within the community while providing the structure, services and treatment they need to be safe, to heal and to grow. The program emphasizes maximizing each boy's ability to develop skills for living successfully outside of an institutional setting through the participation in normative community activities. This program is offered through Genesis Center. Children are referred to this program through the Department of Children and Families.
