Brook House

Brook House is a community-based group home that provides 24-hour staffing and a built-in therapeutic component for six girls, aged 13 to 18 who have experienced trauma and loss, who have serious emotional and behavioral problems and who have lived in more restrictive programs or institutions. Brook House allows the girls to live in a more normal, natural setting within a community, while providing a high level of support and structure. The program works with each girl to develop skills needed to move to even less restrictive care, either with their family, a foster family or independently. The program also provides opportunities to participate in normative teen activities and learning in a community setting. Brook House is a program of North Central Counseling Services. Children are referred to this program through the Department of Children and Families.
