Treatment Foster Care is a family-based service that provides individualized treatment for children, youth and their families. Treatment Foster Care targets foster children and youth at risk of entering or returning from residential treatment or those discharged from hospitals, who have complex behavioral health needs. The program also trains and supports treatment foster parents in implementing the key elements of treatment in the context of family and community life. Children and families are referred to this program through the Department of Children & Families.
