Clinical Supervisor - Foster and Adoptive Support

Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Provides Full-Range of Clinical Services for Clients with mental illness, addictions
and/or serious emotional disorders.
- Completes intake assessment and diagnosis.
- Coordinates client-centered treatment planning.
- Works with client to develop treatment plan to meet presenting problems and needs.
- Documents ongoing client progress.
- Works with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans utilizing natural supports.
- Determines appropriate treatment services for assigned clients to assist them in
staying in the community and resuming occupational, educational and/or leisure
activities.
- Maintains collaborative relationships with family members and other service providers.
- Provides clinical intervention when indicated to aid clients in maintaining or improving their
level of functioning.
- Provides family intervention and consultation when indicated to assist clients and families
in learning about and managing mental illness and/or behavioral issues.
- Provides crisis assessment and intervention to monitor status of clients in crisis.
- Performs in home services.
- Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each
population served.
Responsible for Maintaining Client and Staff Records According to Agency Policy - Completes intake and discharge recordkeeping.
- Keeps all client progress notes, treatment plans and other records up-to-date.
- Completes all agency statistical and other recordkeeping according to agency
policy and procedures.
• Oversees and Supervises all Activities of the Team. - Provides direct clinical and administrative supervision to clinical staff.
- Provides direct case supervision for case managers, and respite workers.
- Supervises day to day functioning of assigned staff.
- Directs crisis intervention efforts and intervenes as required.
- Facilitates program team meetings.
- Ensures clients receives treatment services that are focused on maintaining the child in the home
Provides orientation to new staff.
- Provides or ensures trainings for staff to maintain competencies.
- Provides clinical direction and leadership within the Team.
- Evaluates staff and initiates and follow through on progressive discipline, if needed.
- Ensures that staff attend required trainings.
• Administrative Functions
- Timely completion of reports on performance indicators, program
enrollment, incident/accidents, etc.
- Reports all incidents to Quality Dept., Division Director or designee
within 24 hours.
- Assures Quality Assurance functions within the team.
- Oversees completion of chart audits and ensures needed documentation.
- Participates in hiring staff.
- Reviews caseloads regularly to ensure appropriate utilization of services.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
-Participates in case conferences/in-service training at the agency & elsewhere.
-Responsibilities as assigned by the Division Director.
-Beeper coverage during and after program hours.
-Ensures proper maintenance of vehicles.
-Participates in committees to improve agency service delivery and quality improvement.
-May perform other assignments and duties, as area needs require.
Minimum Requirements
-Requires a Masters degree in a behavioral health field which is eligible for licensing in the State of Connecticut.
-Current Licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or LADC is required.
-In-depth clinical skill and knowledge.
-Expert knowledge of assessment, diagnosis and treatment for assigned population; risk assessment, crisis management.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Demonstrated leadership, organizational and planning skills.
-Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.
-A minimum of 3-5 years experience as a clinician in a mental health setting.
