CHR Golf Tournament Raises $36,700 for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Services

ENFIELD/BLOOMFIELD (June 15, 2010) – Thanks to the generous support of sponsors and golfers, the Benefit Golf Tournament hosted by Community Health Resources on Monday, May 24, 2010, was a tremendous success, raising more than $36,700. The event took place at Wintonbury Hills Golf Course in Bloomfield, CT. All proceeds will benefit CHR’s mental health and addiction treatment programs, to help people lead healthier, happier lives.

Among those participating in the Golf Tournament was K.C. Jones, the legendary basketball star who played for the Boston Celtics from 1958 to 1967. Jones went on to become a successful coach and was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1989.

In addition to 18 holes of golf with carts, Tournament participants enjoyed an open practice range, raffle and auction prizes, a putting contest, an exciting hole-in-one car contest, dinner and more.

The Tournament would not have been possible without the support of the many local businesses that served as sponsors. Platinum Sponsors of the event were Mutual of America and Shipman & Goodwin, LLC. Silver Sponsors included KDSA Consulting, LLC, and NewAlliance Bank. Bronze sponsors were AMF Property Management Corporation; Carter Chevrolet/Mazda; Colliers, Dow & Condon, Inc.; DiBattisto Associates, LLC; Genoa Healthcare; ING; Rose & Kiernan; and Regional Network of Programs.  CHR extends its sincere gratitude to these sponsors, as well as to K. C. Jones and the many Hole and Tee Sponsors that contributed to the event’s success.
